CVI was initially organized in the mid-nineties under a conventional label owner business model that included strategic outsourcing of vital functions. The company collected and analyzed information on consumer preferences and reaction to the TAKIT TO COURT logo. CVI sponsored field promotions and events including its highly successful, TAKIT TO COURT "Shootout", an NCAA men's and women's invitational basketball tournament for nationally ranked teams previously held on Hilton Head.

In its label owner capacity, CVI spearheaded successful market introduction of the apparel industry's first comprehensive sport fashion collection to major USA department stores followed by national deliveries to JC Penney. CVI obtained endorsement for the brand name and product styles from JC Penney headquarters.

Despite initial market success, CVI quickly moved to adopt a digital technology approach. This move was precipitated by problems that CVI encountered from antiquated domestic apparel production infrastructure, the effects of NAFTA, and resistance to change within most of the textile apparel industry. It led to our solution-CVI’s new quick innovation and deployment business model for label commercialization.

CVI and its' founder has been featured in several articles of the Charlotte Business Journal, The Hilton Head News, and Sports Trend Magazine.
